🛑 Stay safe — most migration problems start with a fake agent.
  • Only use licensed recruiting agencies (check at BMET) or the government agency BOESL. Get your BMET emigration clearance (smart card) before you fly.
  • Never give your passport or money to someone who only "knows a person". Get every promise in a written contract.
  • Scholarships and government programmes are applied for directly on the official websites below. They are usually free to apply.
  • A visa or job "guaranteed" for money is a warning sign. Check with the embassy of that country.

🚩 Warning signs of a fake agent

  • Asks for money before you get a written contract and job offer
  • Offers a tourist or visit visa for a job
  • Says you do not need BMET clearance or a smart card
  • Keeps your passport, or will not give receipts
  • Has no office, no RL number, only a phone or Facebook page
  • Promises salary, visa or "100% guarantee" that sounds too good
